Can you use the term doctor as a verb?
Indeed, it can. When something is "doctored," the person alters it in an effort to trick others. As an illustration, businesses will occasionally alter their accounting numbers in order to display a significant profit. In doing so, they are hoping to see a rise in the value of their shares. It's called "doctoring" to change numbers in an unethical manner.

These reports suggest that it was the Professor who doctored the figures.

According to the film star, her ex-husband doctored the photographs.

When someone doctors your drink or food, they spice it up with a little bit of poison!

The police suspect that it was the partner who doctored the drink.

The dog's food had been doctored.
